Lake Oroville

Lake Oroville is another beautiful lake we have in california. The average temperature of the water is 72-78 degrees all summer long. http://www.lakeoroville.net/ is the official website to go to and check out everything this lake offers. The website includes many activities that can be done in the lake and around it. For example, swimming, hiking, boating, skiing, and tubing. I am very excited to go to this lake this summer to go swimming and wake boarding. I also can't wait to take the boat around and to speed on the water. This lake is a must go to. Hopefully the water is higher this time, because last time I was there the lake was a little low.

Moss Landing Beach

Moss Landing Beach is my favorite beach to go to, and the one I go to the most even though its a two hour drive. Moss Landing is located in Moss Landing, California, in the Monterey County, which is where I am from. I have been going here since I was a baby and this place never gets old. The sand is soft and the water is cold, but that never stopped me from going in. They say no dogs are allowed, but there are ways around that due to lack of signs in some places. Most of the locals go to this beach to surf, fish or just to hang out. The best two places to go on the beach is called the Jetty and Pettes. When you on the beach to the right there is Monterey beaches in the distance and to the left there is Santa Cruz beaches in the distance. This beach is worth visiting and never crowded since everyone goes to the more well known beaches in Monterey or Santa Cruz .

Lake Shasta

Lake Shasta is by far my favorite lake to go to in the summer. The lake is up in Shasta County near Redding, California. The lake got its name because of Mt. Shasta, which is the lakes neighbor and no matter where you are at on the lake you can see it. Lake Shasta is popular for camping, boating, house boating, water skiing, tubing, and swimming. The water is clean because of the snow run off, and great to swim in when the weather is hot out. You can rent a house boat for as long as you want, to just enjoy the lake, the view, and the sun. This lake is worth visiting.

            My name is Kayla, and for my English class I have to start blogging. Coming up with a blog topic is one of the hardest things that I have had to do, because it has to be on something people enjoy. So a couple of my favorite things to do are to go to the beach and the lake. Now I live in California, so we have many beautiful beaches and lakes. The blog that I am starting are on all the best beaches and lakes in California, and the ones I have been to that aren’t so great and the reasons why. So the people, who have never been to either California or to any of the beaches I will list as the best, will now have to check them out.
